The road to engagement pictures was paved with good intentions. The Goodlaffs planned on taking pictures in the Fall. I love Fall--it's my favorite season, and I wanted nothing more than to have beautiful bold red, orange, and yellow leaves feature prominently in our photos.
But, alas, it was not to be. I work in elections. We had an election in the fall. There was no time for engagement pictures. Boo.
After Fall came Thanksgiving, then Christmas, and before you knew it, we were rolling in to January. Finally we set a date, and though it's dangerously close to being February, we are squeaking it in to the first month of this year. So, now that the date is set, how about a little bit of Engagement Session Inspiration?

I adore the jumping pictures. There's so much energy and excitement, and it makes me want to let out my inner, untrained cheerleader.
I love the simplicity of these photos. They are casual, relaxed, and they look great. I hope the Goodlaffs are able to look this un-rehearsed!
The pictures that are taken from far away really feel like they capture a private moment--these would be great at one of our locations.
How about using a blanket in a field? Very casual and fun, and definitely more of the relaxed photos we are looking for!
Then there are pictures with props. What kind of props could we use? Let's see...
How about frames?
Madly, totally, head-over-heels in love with the idea of using a picture frame. How incredibly awesome are these shots?
Books? My love of books is legendary, and Mr. Goodlaff is an avid reader as well. Could be cute!
I'm sure our photographer has a ton of ideas for us as well, and I just can't wait until this weekend to see what's in store for the Goodlaffs!
What kind of inspiration did you have for your engagement pictures?
We did bubbles and it did not work out well. I think books are pretty failproof! So much lovely inspiration.
